I've never really sat down and thought about halal tourism until I experienced the Banana Island by Anantara. A Qatari luxury resort:

  1. with amazing activities for both couples or families with kids; and
  2. most importantly, they have Italian and American restaurants without booze and bars!

Basically it was the perfect getaway that me and Chia have ever dreamed of. Yes it is expensive because it's just like any other luxury resort, but it was exceptional because it was family oriented. I hate stuck-up businesses that do not allow children to be in their premises of their supposedly quiet ambience (sheesh as if they were not once children themselves), nor were there any booze around. All I can say is, "take my money, just take it right now!"

This is why the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council - Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman) rocks. I mean, I've lived in the UK, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and now Saudi Arabia. By far, the GCC has a lot to offer in terms of quality of life. I've never felt more peaceful in my life when I am not bogged down by debt and taxes. Whatever it is, do not trust the media. You have to travel, explore and experience different cultures for yourself. Always, always trust yourself first.
